Organizations nowadays are looking for innovative ways to build robust, cross-platform, functional applications as quickly as possible, and a lot are turning to Java programming.  Java's unique architecture permits programmers to develop a single application that can run across multiple platforms seamlessly and reliably.

On the other hand, COBOL allows organizations to design a program logic, applying program development approach for mainframe online systems.

Now, here is your chance to develop Java and Cobol skills.

The training is funded by TESDA, however, there are five (5) slots for JAVA and five (5) slots for COBOL.  This is open to PSITE NCR members, provided members  secure clearance from their immediate supervisors, since it will be a full time program.  The schedule was moved to December 8, 2009 (tentative).  JAVA will be 220+ hrs total, while Cobol will be 250+ hours.  For more information, please contact Engr. A Successful Pedagogical Session PDF Print E-mail

Another successful MSW was held last Friday, March 13, 2009, at TIP-Manila!  The seminar was all about Pedagogy facilitated by Dr. Rene Molano, a seasoned, well-sought after speaker on IT, Pedagogy and Leadership.  The attendees had so much fun while learning!  It was a blast, as Jonathan Caballero noted.  Indeed, the first part of the series of pedagogical seminars and workshops was enlightening as well as enriching experience for everyone.  Expect more to come, as PSITE NCR continue to provide its members a wide array of seminars, workshops, and hands-on sessions in the coming months!!!

Learning while having "FUN" PDF Print E-mail

The Agile Methodology seminar/workshop marked the beginning of the second semester of school year 2008-2009 for PSITE NCR.  This was held in Jose Riza University (JRU) last November 10, 2008, and participated in by more than 60 individuals from various NCR schools.  Mr. Renato "Butch" Landingin, Chief Technology Officer of Orange and Bronze (OnB), first discussed Agile Methodology or Xtreme Programming (XP), then followed by a game which represnted the realization of the conept.  He shared his experiences using Agile in developing systems for customers.  It was emphasized in the seminar that collaboration between the customer and developer is the key factor in systems development.
