[FEATURE] Learning while having FUN

The participants of the first part of the Enablement Seminar-Series (ESS) on Robotics and Embedded Systems truly had fun while learning and building their robots!  The ESS was held on 17-November-2011 at the D-Room, 3/F SV Building at Adamson University.  The resource speaker, Mr. Melvin Matulac, President and Founder of the Pinoy Robot Games Foundatoin, was truly inspiriing as he delivered the talk on robotics and embedded systems, and facilated the hands-on session using Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software.  It is intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.

Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. The microcontroller on the board is programmed using the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring) and the Arduino development environment (based on Processing). Arduino projects can be stand-alone or they can communicate with software running on a computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP).

The participants assembled their prototype and  programmed the movements of their robots.  As much of the ESS was consumed in hands-on activities, the participants had so much fun while learning!  In fact, they are looking forward to the second part of the ESS to be slated on 26-January-2012!
