The third of the series of IT Research seminars/workshops was recently held at Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU). More than 80 participants joined this very interesting event, with three resource speakers from the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Science and Technology, and the Intellectual Property Office, who delivered topics on funding and patenting of IT researches. The event was opened by the LPU Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Conrad Inigo. The closing remarks were delivered by the LPU Dean of the College of Computer Studies Mr. Samuel Chua.
The following respectabe speakers on IT Research Funding and Patenting shared their valuable time and experience to make the seminar enriching and insightful, namely:
Atty. Louie Andrew C. Calvario, Head, Copyright Support Services of the Intellectual Property office, on Information Technology and Intellectual Property Protection;
Dr. Jean O. Tayag, CHED IT Research Funds, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), on Doing Research on and with ICT;
Engr. Roel A. Sancho, Officer-in-Charge, DOST Policy Planning Division, on R&D for Competitiveness and National Development.
