It was another successful monthly seminar held last Feb. 6, 2009 at the Vista Room of Microsoft Philippines. More than 70 participants attended the first-of-a-series of security seminars and workshops designed to gear the educators up on IT Security, Audit and Controls, and IT Governance. The speakers, coming from both industry and academe, delivered topics ranging from the technical (The Philippine Honeynet Project doing security analytics), to the management aspects of security (including IT Audit, Governance, and Risk Management). It was both informative and enriching experience. The topics discussed are very relevant, with everyone challenged to become more conscious about information security.
In the upcoming series, there will be two tracks, one focusing on the technical and the other on management. The technical track will cover security analytics, and the management one will all be dedicated to IT audit, security governance, risk management, compliance to ISO standards, and others.
Expect more to come, but in the meantime, we encourage everyone to attend the next Feb. 2009 seminar on English Proficiency for IT Educators! See you all there!!
